Disaster waiting to happen

My landowner has called in the FDA to trap hogs on his property. To be honest, there was no way I am or will ever be as effective as trapping. I am pretty sure I am not supposed to hunt while they are trapping.

My main issue is that I live over an hour a way. The best I can do is one night per week. I have maintained the feeders and cameras.

What's the disaster? I'd be thrilled to get hogs gone. Check on being able to hunt while they're trapping. If you can't, I'd like to know why not. More than likely they will be using a boarbuster drop trap.

Well the disaster for me is I like hunting two things the most-hogs and turkeys. Hog hunting is something I can do all the time. I never have to stop! If there are no hogs that means no fun. :( I realize that getting rid of the hogs will improve deer hunting and maybe even turkey hunting. The thing is I could care less about deer hunting-up there at least.

Gotcha, they're taking out what you like to hunt. I didn't even look at you avatar - makes sense now. I hate that for you. I'm sure the landowner will be thrilled.

The USDA is pretty effective but they will leave and the hogs will recover. You might be low on hogs for awhile though. I haven't had any for months. Helicopters, trapping, dogs, have really reduced their numbers around my area. The snow this year really helped the helicopters.

they killed a ton of them in Shelby County, north of Memphis, 2-3 years back. They didn't get them all, though. Once you involve huge swamps, it's hard to find them in all of those hidey holes.
