Deer seeing the camera?

Normally I don't post any of my clients' trail-camera pictures, but this one was too good to pass up. Do you think this buck saw the camera?

I put most of mine about 7-8 ft high and angle them to my point of aim. Most of the time they don't even look at them. Like this guy. Btw this is where I'll be hunting the week around 11/11 this year.

I do the same when monitoring a spot on the ground, like a scrape. But sometimes I want a wide panoramic view of the entire area hence mount them lower. The deer definitely notice those!

Probably smell it. If you don't use nitrile or latex gloves checking your cams, then you are leaving scent on them. Depending on the cam they may also possibly hear them. Have had moultrie cams that I could hear when they took pics.

I've noticed deer almost always see a new camera, unless it is mounted high. However, once they give it a long stare-down, and maybe even sniff it, they never care about it again.

I've had several up close pics in the past. The spike in the pic actually turned my camera and opened the part where you turn it on and off and change the batteries. Like others have said sometimes I hang them higher, mostly do they over scrapes. Lots of times I don't tho over salt licks or food plots.

This camera has been up since Turkey season. No way they're smelling it. This was yesterday. Either the shape or led. Who knows

She could just be standing in front of it

I had one stand in front of the camera one night for over 5 minutes…,taking his pic 3,times every 30 seconds.::
