I am going to the gulf shores/orange beach area deep sea fishing last week of May or first week of June. There are three of us and we are wanting to go on a charter boat for a 8-12 hour bottom fishing trip. I would prefer to go on a boat with twin outboards due to speed and amount of time to fish. Does anyone have any suggestions? Last trip I went on a 8hr trip, with twin diesel engines, and spent more time traveling out and back in and between spots than I did fishing. Any suggestions???

I have run my twin engine center console boat out of Orange Beach and can tell you that you will run 50 miles to get into good fish. Find someone that does an overnight trip out to the rigs and it'll be money well spent.

make sure its in june or in season as some of the better eating fish have closed seasons, just saying some will argue they are open in certain states but the ocean limits go for all states ect..

Gulf Rebel Captain Brian Annan will put u on fish

I've heard good things about him as well.

Do you want to bottom fish, troll, or both?

I've heard that the king mackerel are just starting up down there. Haven't heard about the cobia yet, but if memory serves, April is usually a good month for them to start up.

I don't remember much about their engine setup, but I went out with the Fish Trap out of Zeke's Marina a few years ago and they did a good job. Look them up on the internet and CALL THEM DIRECTLY instead of going through the Zeke's main office, and you might be able to get a better deal. I've been told that the marina people tack on 50-100 bucks in fees.
