My new area where I started fishing at has some really deep water and some local have told me of some nice bass has come out of the deep. So I know I could use bait fish for it, but hey I like to use fake bait to catch them. Nothing more fun, so what are some good 50 to 150 foot deep water bait to use for bass? Thanks

Seriously, I've bass fished for a long time and have never heard of anyone catching bass that deep. Is there a possibility this guy is pulling your leg? I've just never heard of it.

I say it is only 50 or 60 feet deep, but just going on what they have said. lol

I have not had any luck on buzzbait. I only caught a few about a pound or less in there, but they where only from 1 to 20 feet deep. Who know, I would love to hook into one of those big bass.

That sounds a little better. Try a jigging spoon right over the top of them. Let it down to the depth and jig it up above them and let it fall in them. If they are there you should eventually get one to hit it.

Deep fish can be caught on a lot of things in the summer... flutter spoon, jigging spoon, jig, carolina rig, texas rig, drop shot, swimbaits... any number of those things. I use all of the above down to 50 feet. After that point I don't look for them. Long line a crankbait but about 40 foot is as deep as I have done that.

Keep in mind, The biggest problem with deep fish is release them quickly so they can go back down. If you put them in the livewell you will either have to fizz them or fin clip them with weights. If you don't the swim bladder will be inflated and they can't right their selves in the water and will die.
