Dead mount box

My son wants a dead mount pintail so I tried my hand at one.
Can't see any screws or saw cut edges anywhere.
I like how it turned out.
Just got to add the hanger bracket.

For a setup like that, do you have to treat the wood or do anything to discourage pests from being attracted to it or the mount itself? I don't know that much about mounts, as I've always been too frugal to do one. I'm sort of regretting not getting my pintail mounted from 2019, but I don't have a great spot for it.

I'm going to treat it with demon tc or something similar just in case.

I was gonna ask with how your year was going if he had gotten to fill it. Then I realized you built it last year😂 we leased in semo…. Notice the past tense reference….
