Dads gun

Not entirely up to date with old guns and optics but my dad passed and I inherited his old 30-06 that I plan to use next year … didn't have the time to get it setup this year. Anyways I'm going to post pics of the scope and rifle looking for insight if I should change the scope out and how well these old M77 were made.

L263579 is the serial # for the Scope.

I think it is awesome that his guns has some battle scars on it! You can tell he hunted with it. I would verify zero with some good quality ammo, clean it and use it every chance you get!

That's a great hunting rifle as is. The 2.5-8 leupold is a great scope. I wouldn't change anything and enjoy it

My favorite rifle scope for hunting is a 2.5X8 Leupold. Small, light, clear.

Very fine setup there, you could buy different, but would be hard pressed to find better.

Please check with Ruger. There is a recall on many of the 77s from mid 60s to mid 90s. It causes an accidental discharge. Saw it happen personally. Don't trust it without checking first.
