Any idea on this doe I shot? She wasn't very alert and literally walked through the gate right behind me before I shot her. Noticed her tongue was hanging out when I saw her but had no idea it was this bad. Killed 12-23 ( waiting on cwd test)

If you are hunting where your sig says. You are right in the hot zone! Could be a possibility, but will have to wait on your test results.

More than likely CWD. Look up the symptoms…was she salivating a lot?

May be dehydrated from all this heat or possibly run hard by a buck or two…not enough information to make a truly educated guess.

The hot weather doesn't phase the deer. From what I've seen, being chased by a buck doesn't make em act that way either, just out of breath. She was sick with something if she acted that way.

Tongue in cheek answer, but have seen deer run to absolute exhaustion in dog races in the south that make them act all sorts of ways. Not saying this was that situation. But need more info.

This deer needed to be put down. She would have died a slow horrible death very soon. Regardless of the CWD results, I wouldn't eat it.
