All due respect Crow, you couldn't be more wrong with this statement. Are there docs out there like that? Yes I would assume. How many? I would guarantee a very small minority of them. I know I'm dental and not medical but I can assure you I am my patients biggest cheerleader. I try to talk myself out of a job everyday by informing and educating patients on just EXACTLY how to stay out of my chair and stay in the hygienist chair.

My favorite patient visits are the ones where I get to sit down and check their teeth after a good cleaning. Seeing healthy gums and teeth makes me smile. Then we can talk about what they have been up to lately, hows the kids, etc. etc. and usually ends with "Say hey to your mom and them"

Almost all of us regardless of discipline want happy healthy patients.
My kind of dentist....I reminded mine again this morning that I could care less if I ever saw him, I just wanted to see the hygienist. He always says he does not take offense to that and he knows exactly what I mean.

You know, realistically, some of the people that are shaming people for not getting the vaccine and saying how big of a danger they are to others around them...are probably doing so from a smartphone while they are going down the highway.

As far as doctors go, I personally believe most go by the motto “A patient cured is a customer lost”. They’ll run test after test as long as you’re paying and willing to keep letting them run tests.
Nothing makes me want to beat my head against the wall quicker than this argument. I'm on the actual medicine side vs the physician side but I get so sick and tired of this argument. Want a cure? Eat healthy, exercise, and get enough sleep. It's truly that simple for a litany of medical issues. There is no cure for poor diet combined with a sedentary lifestyle.

My sister got the 2 shot Pfizer and still caught Covid last week.
Kicked her butt but didn’t end up in the hospital.

Yep, this is going to happen. Everyone's immune system is different.

Its also very possible the vaccine kept her out of the hospital - impossible to know.

What IS clear is that the vast majority of people hospitalized and dying right now are unvaccinated.

Then take your head out of the sand and quit denying it and you will understand.
If you know any doctors, I suggest you have a conversation with one of them. Especially if they have experience treating this.

You should really check your biases at the door, turn off social media for a bit and listen to what they say. I'm not saying listen to Fauci, or the CDC, or even you state health department. Talk to someone local. They are being devastated right now trying to keep people alive who don't even believe COVID is real.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you bud.

I just hope you and your family make it through this wave unscathed.
Thank you Mr scientist, that's just the reply I would expect from someone who doesn't know what he's talking about. Please check my grammar if you don't mind sir.

Do you seriously believe flu and covid are the same? If so, I just can't help you, there is only so much information I can provide, and don't have the time nor patience to teach basic biology
He's saying we don't turn the world upside down for the Flu, which kills 30k people a year on average in the US, 65k on a bad year. It's a valid point. I think you know that and don't want to or can't argue it. So, you intentionally misrepresent his statement and belittle his intelligence so you can walk away still representing you won the argument.

We are 10X that number right now, with a long ways to go.

You let me know when the Flu has caused 2.5 Million hospitalizations in a 12 month period and I will listen.

I don't need you to listen to me. Seems to me like you need us to listen to you if you're pleading with people to get vaccinated.

Again, comparisons to the flu... I just can't help you if that's what you are basing our response to covid should be.

I never said the flu and Covid were the same. You jumped to that conclusion. I was replying to your comment about being held responsible when going out into public with a sickness. Why stop at Covid? What about every other sickness that could be deadly?
What other freedoms do you want to take away? First mask mandates then vaccine mandates, what’s next?
No need to reply as you will not change my mind nor will I change yours.
Continue on.

I have yet to have met a physician or higher educated health care professional that has suggested not taking one of the vaccines.
Within my family there are three Nurse Practitioners (providers not family) and one biologist (lab specialist, family) that advise to not have the vaccine unless you are at risk. These are successful providers and professionals. Then there is one doctor(related, not our provider) who is adamant that everyone have it. My primary told me that since I had had covid not to take the vaccine.

What about the flu? You going to start holding everyone with the flu responsible for not staying at home? This goes for every other deadly illness out there. I know, why dont we all stay at home and never venture into public again. That would probably satisfy the socialist leftist.
Why dont we all just bow down to the gov't and kiss there azz like good followers and never ask questions or STAND up for our freedom again. This is not about our health or safety and never was intended to be. This is about power and control!!!!!
YOUR OBEDIENCE IS PROLONGING THIS NIGHTMARE!!!!!!
People that have the flu should avoid passing it on to others in my opinion. Whatever that means, be it staying home from work, not going to school, or sending your kids to school. Really is a shame that many don't avoid passing it on, as the flu can and does kill people every year, especially people who have compromised health through no fault of their own. Our schools have been shut down for the common flu, why, because people send their kids to school knowing they are sick.

(This is not directed at anyone here, but more a rant at the content of my reply) It is unfortunate that there are self serving people out there who just don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. My 10 year old is autistic and cannot take medicine. He pukes it up, pills, liquid, does not matter. Facing that he may end up in the hospital for high fever with the flu is a reality. In fall 2019 we almost ended up with him in the hospital with the flu, he also got strep. At 8 years old he wanted to get a shot rather than take antibiotics and still could not take meds. For fever he had to have suppositories. We kept him out during the last school year and went virtual, he was not sick a single time.

Comparing the CCP virus to the flu as far as the over the top recommendations is fair IMO, while flu may not have the yearly death count, if the CCP virus numbers hold, it does kill over 30k, some up to 60k, a year. And I have never heard the .gov have such a media blitz to get the vaccine, stay home, mask up, hell even recommend people wash their hands due to the flu, as a matter of fact, I don't recall them doing that for the swine flu (H1N1), . And natural immunity does not come from getting the virus, it is how people become asymptomatic when they do come in contact with the CCP virus. While yes, they do become even more naturally immune afterwards, they had some prior, otherwise they would be part of the .5%.
