Yelp, I hated the other post about it hurting some peoples ears I started my own. I am going to just say it like it is. I am 28 years old and I love almost every country song that has came out in the past decade. ...however...I want to jump off a large cliff when I here some "original" country music. Sorry fellas just not my kind of "country".

If you don't like Hank Williams (and I mean Hank Sr. - not his hoodlum son) you don't like country music. Not that I have a strong opinion on the subject. haha :)

But don't jump off that cliff either or you'll miss deer season! :D

Ok, do you like a Ford or Chevy? Pretty much the same question when asking if you like old country or new country better. Me, I drive a Chevy and listen to more middle to new country than I do the old classic country.

I never listened to country until the last 5 years or so. Old twangy country just doesnt sound good to my ears.

About the only older country I like is Johnny Cash and only some of it.

I do like alot of the new stuff, and am a huge fan of Zack Brown Band.

I also like
George Strait
Dierks Bentley
Eric Church
Jason Aldean
Lee Brice
Blake Shelton
Brad Paisley
Eli Young Band
Jamey Johnson
Josh Turner
Luke Bryan

I dont really give 2 craps if somebody thinks its country or not, I like the way it sounds. Im a product of the 90s, so I was always into the alternative rock/grunge/hard rock stuff. Making the turn to country is easier to swallow with the newer stuff.

I tend to listen to whatever I like and not worry about the opinions of the masses. I like some new, some old, some weird. This nation is great. You don't have to listen to anything you don't want to and every radio I've seen so far has an off button.

Agree. Listen to what you enjoy.

I gravitate towards the older stuff. Not just country, but rock and metal as well. There's not much new stuff I listen to these days.

The only country I see in your list is Johnny Cash.

Lot's of pop stars, though.

George Strait is country

Jamie Johnson has some good new country
Zack Brown Band is good too....but the later 2 are the exception to the rule.

I prefer country from about 20 years ago. Alan Jackson, Clint Black, Sara Evans, Alabama, early Toby Keith, Neal McCoy, John Anderson, Clay Walker, Carlene Carter, etc. I like some older stuff as well, but not much of the newer stuff.

I'm so hard core old country that I think of George Jones and Johnny Cash as newcomers. :)

Here are some of my favorites:

Hank Williams
Ernest Tubb
Jim & Jesse
Flatt & Scruggs
Marty Robbins
Cowboy Copas
Johnny Horton
Lefty Frizzell
