after seeing the post a couple days ago about comcast I called today. I am not a fan of comcast but I have had it for 15 years. Lynch screwed Anderson Co when he made a deal with them right before he got kicked out of office giving them another contract so no others can come in AC Well there main competition Charter. Charter you can get bundled for around 120 a month comcast went up last month for the second time in 6 months my new bill was 180 bucks. Well needless to say I called them today told them to shut it all off I was going with a less expensive server. Oh no he said we can't let you do that, I said yes you can I'm not paying this price shut it off.He said hold on just a minute and then came back and said We will take it back down to normal price so you don't leave us. I can live with that. My other family members then did the same they got the same deal. So just thought I'd let anyone know that does have it if they call them and do that they can get there bill reduced back to what it was before for one year. After that if they go up I will switch to another provider unless there contract runs out and Charter comes in for some competition then they both will drop there prices like they need to and I will still prolly switch to charter. Competition makes everything better

Meanwhile, in markets where AT&T has a significant presence and has taken quite a chunk out of Comcrap's business, they're offering a 2-year, same-price guarantee.

Sorry Comcrap....I wouldn't accept a paycheck to allow your service run to my house.

They didn't offer that when I moved to ATT Uverse after being a customer of Comcast for nearly 30 years. They were willing to knock $20 off per month for a year. I told them to shove it and ordered ATT right after I hung up.

Well I have had both ATT and Comcast and not a fan of either but because of the internet I found comcast to beat ATT but I got a 2 year price lock then we are looking at moving after 2 years. If you do not use the internet a lot then it is not a big deal but you have to compare apples to apples.

I have to have solid, fast, & reliable internet or I cannot work from home. That being said, Comcast sucks with these price increases. I have no viable alternative.

When I could not get comcast to act, as they promised 3 separate times, I wrote a real snail mail letter to the Lady in Charge (First name Marge) of Utilities in TN. She wrote back and said she had no governance over Comcast but she would reach out for me. HA!!! That woman lit a fire under the rear end of some lady in Atlanta you could see from Memphis. Atlanta lady called me, all huffy, all threatening, and I shoved right back and she calmed down and the NEXT day my problem was resolved. And they backdated a bill reduction. And I got a follow-up call from Atlanta Lady and it was like we were kissing cousins, except I told her she better be very very glad there was no viable alternative or I'd be gone like a shot. Suddenly, she wanted to end the call and just to be a real PIA I insisted she double check that the bill reduction was going to show up on my next bill.

Push back. They got rules about losing customers in a given area because at some level, they lose money.
