Does anyone make a decent closed face underspin reel. My 10 year old has taken up fishing and he is getting agitated sometimes with a spinning reel. He can do it but when he messes up it's bad. I have bought a daiwa closed underspin. Used it last year and chunked it was a piece of crap. The little zebco micro 33 trigger spin is ok but doesn't cast far at all. He may just have to suck it up and use the spinning reel.

I can't speak for the underspin Pflueger listed above, but I've got a few of their closed face normal style reels. They have been excellent reels for the money.

In my very limited experience with an underspin, I would suggest practicing in the yard with a decent spinning reel.
