Check this ear out

I have a buck that I had mounted and he had a 30 caliber hole in his ear. It was perfectly healed up and round like a bullet. I figured he either was missed due to buck fever by someone or he was lucky and the spotlighter missed!

The hole in the ear deer….

Shot this one thinking it was a long spike…

I had been shooting minute of shot gun shell box with my .50 cal TC Hawken at 75 yards..
So when this one stuck it's head out of the honey suckle thicket at 85 yards or so…(prior to range finders) yep, Im older than most dirt.



I guess I shot high & left .50 cal roundball hole..😎

He wasn't so lucky on the 2nd shot..

I had always wanted too try my hand at taxidermy, so I figured he was a good one too give it a go on..
