can't get an American on the phone

Printer crapped out had to have a new bought a 130 all in one with fax on it at walmart, figured I pay more get a good one be done with it. Nope didnt work tried everything nothing, I am short on patiense anyway with all this pain, I called for help on install first thing I get is a rag head who you can't understand a freaking word he sayd but they call it English. I told 5 times with him saying huh and me saying what did you say and I'm done hung up on him taking it back to walmart makes me so mad I could eat nails

Lol...How can someone go back to where they came from if they are already there? You are talking to someone on the phone in India. Welcome to global outsourcing.

More companies are starting to use the Philippines for their call centers because English is commonly spoken in the Philippines and Filipinos have a relatively neutral accent when compared to Indians.

When you call and someone other than American answers.... if you can't understand them, tell them you want to talk to an American that speaks English. By law they have to comply.... so I have been told.

The funny part is usually they answer the phone in very broken English and say this is Tim or John.

Yes, ask for someone proficient in speaking English. It's worked for me every time SO FAR.

I have to laugh at this discussion. I have to call customers located here in the US and provide their technical support, a good portion of them are Indian and I have a hard time understanding what most of them are sayin.

Last year I took a class and one of the topics was outsourcing. According to this topic, the Indians are told to treat us like 10yr olds.
