Go with burris, it ain't made in the U.S., but at least it's not Chinese vortex junk.
None of the Vortex scopes mentioned/recommended were made in China. They are all Philippine made scopes just like the Burris. I would wager they even came out of the same Scopro plant as the Burris. Scorpro is owned by a Taiwan company IIRC soooooo

Ive got a Razor HD LH 2-10x40 (LOW Japan) and a Diamondback HP 3-12x42. Both are just fine and the Razor HD LH i would rate as extremely nice.

I did replace my DB HP with a Sightron but i didnt need to. ATM you can get a Sightron STAC 4-20x50 at Cameraland with some rings for $300. Now thats a heckuva a deal on a scope. Tougher and better turrets/tracking than pretty much anything in that price range

Yes the FFP model is Chinese. So are the Strike Eagle, Venom, Crossfire, Copperhead and i would not recommend any of those scopes. There might even be a couple more. Quite a few of the Philippine made scopes are good and their Japanese made scopes are very good to excellent. The Diamondback HP i got was a bargain at under $200. I would take it over a similar priced Burris any day. Better eye relief and i would give it an edge optically too. The HP line has the XR/XD glass just like the Vipers but in a 1" tube. Razor line is LOW Japan and the Golden Eagle ive heard is made by Kenko in Japan.

Personally im not a fan of most of the Viper line. You can often buy a Sightron for a similar price. They are tougher, track better and often have better eye relief. Plus Sightron does not outsource assembly. Kenko owns Sightron and the assembly plants in Japan and Philippines.

I will put my $300 STAC up against any Loopie in that price range made within the last 3ish years. Put them both on a hard kicker. See which one holds zero and still tracks after 40ftlb+ of recoil. ;)

Save your money and get a leupold. Vortex and Burris are no better than what you already have
While I tend to agree. My motto is Buy Leupold..Buy once and be done. But Burris Does make some pretty decent glass. The Tubes are rugged and dependable and the customer service in the past has been outstanding in terms of service after the sale should something go wrong.

I have an old Burris signature series on a rifle from 1989 and it’s always been a great scope and never lost zero but it’s not leupold quality but a good scope. I’ve had a couple vortex and the glass just isn’t good and most are made in China.

I have a vortex diamondback and have been extremely pleased with it. Clarity and turrets seem to be above par for the $$. But don’t have a Burris to compare to…

I'm using a Vortex Venom 5x25x50 on my .22 in competition now and so far it's been great.
The vortecs would prob do ok without any recoil.

(I'll never buy another one of vorteks products.)

Burris, and Leupold for me RN.
