Hunted with a guy Saturday morning and he handed me a handful of Boss shells 3&5 shot, I'm thinking "these won't be worth a crap!" Boys, I was WRONG! They SPANK! I'm a believer!

I have a buddy that shoots them and swears by them. He doesn't shoot 3-1/2" any more. He says that he doesn't need them. I haven't heard a bad review yet. They are a touch slower but they hammer the birds.

They are the closest thing on the market to Lead performance wise IMO.

I have gone exclusively with 20 gauge 3' 5's the last 2 years for all ducks.

and 3' 4's for geese.

I have had 0 issues.

They are better than steel but not the performance of lead or hevi-shot or other tungsten shot.

High brass lead 4 and 2's were a goose shell. Lead 4's a long range duck load.

If we still could I'd probably only use 2 3/4" 6's for most everything duck.

Bismuth will shatter when it hits heavy bone in a goose. I had to do some neck wringing on these pictured after I used boss #5 on them 2 years ago at 35 steps. I was given those shells. Wasn't all that impressed and I'll take steel 2's as a good combo duck-goose shell. 3" 1 1/4oz about 1400fps through a mod choke does fine.

FYI the video I am linking the guy is talking about BOSS.

Long video, but to quickly sum it up. This guy patterned some BOSS Shells, and posted his honest reviews like he does for every company. BOSS didn't like it and threatened to sue him amongst other things.

Sounds like an outstanding company......

I'm with you.....steel #2 does just fine. I've been impressed with the lethality of the Blind Side squared-off pellets. Novelty enough, for sure, but not straying too far off the plantation to be exotic. Price has gone up in the past year, but used to be less expensive per box than the Black Clouds or Hevi-Shot. Based on my success with them, I may just pay the $300/case price going forward. It's not like I'm pulling the trigger that much in January anyway.
