Boat lighting question

I know that the standard navigation lights are required but I was thinking of adding some rope lights to the sides of my pontoon. Is this illegal in Tennessee waters? Or how about blue underwater lights on the hull? Would like to here from a Twra person on this matter! Thanks

I don't see why adding any lighting would be illegal for any reason. I have been thinking the same thing for my Pontoon just not sure how much battery they would use up. Blue lights under the deck would look cool at night I think.

You can use lights. Check out http://www.bluewaterled.com/
they have it all figured out for you. You can find cheaper
lights but they will not last.

Green and Red lights are where the problem is... Those 2 colors mark your boat at night. Imagine seeing red lights or green lights on the wrong side or end of a moving boat at night.
