Just going from two 777 pellets to BH209, I'm getting around 700 more foot pounds of energy. Still using the TC Shockwave bullets.

Anyone shoot the Barnes expanders with there blackhorn?
I shoot the 300gr over 80gr of Blackhorn and get holes touching at 100 yards.

I tried 100grains but accuracy dropped off and recoil went way up. Something to remember about Blackhorn is that it's hotter than Pyrodex or other substitutes and less is recommended to get the same velocities.

100gr of BH 209 by volume, the 245 gr Barnes Spitfires, and Win 209 primers shoot great in my Knights and are devestating on deer. Usually pass-throughs. I don't recall retrieving one from a deer. I'll be tuning up a "new to me" Knight DISC Elite with this load, +/- as needed, as soon as my scope bases come in. Hopefully, today or tomorrow.
