Blackhorn powder

Ok so I just bought a new cva accura. Muzzleloader because my cva took a dump and it's going back to the factory. So I am thinking about try blackhorn powder for the first time. So a couple questions all I have is federal Muzzleloader primers and winchester primers. Will they work with plackhorn and still get good results? I know the website says federal 209a and cci 209m ahold be used for best results

Ok so it's best if I find some ccii 209aor federal 209m ? My winchester primers are the 209 you buy at walmart

Ive used Winchester #209 777 Primers with BlackHorn and never had a problem, and Bass Pro has them on line .

you need the magnum primer...exactly what they recommend. Ignition not necessarily misfires.

Yes, I'd follow their guidelines, and use only the magnum primers.
You have a little time to obtain some before season.

Yikes! And I thought it was high at nearly $30 in the past!

Yeah. I got a little lucky a couple years back and bought a few on clearance for $15!

And remember, when it was $30-35 it was for a 10 ounce can. Now it's $50 for an 8 ounce can.

Was that by volume or weight buddy?

That's by weight. Comes out to 120 grains by volume. That appears to be the max load.

It's pretty good stuff. I use it out of my Knight. I just wish the cost would come down. Talk about sticker shock from last year to this year.
