Here in Scott Co. I have been out everyday so far with not one gobble yet. Seeing fresh dun and feeding. I did spook a bird this morning off from roost so I know they are there. Maybe in a day or so they will get fired up.

Hunted a wma this morning and had a bird gobble maybe a dozen times on the roost, but once he hit the ground silence. And it was quiet all day long.

Same in Cheatham, Williamson and Maury for me today! Saw birds but no talk after flydown. Not even "courtesy" gobbles
they have gobbled on ground both days opening weekend in Maury where I hunted

We're a solid week away here before things get right...and maybe more. It's just amazing the difference between this year and last year. The birds still think it's winter (felt like it this morning too).

These overcast/cool days are not helping any. Never thought i'd say this, but I'm actually looking forward to breaking a sweat!

I have been three mornings in Western Fayette Co - Sat, Mon, and Tues. Gobbling like crazy on the roost, hit the ground and gobble 6-8 times then shut up.

The one I killed in cheatham was hammering hard the whole way in.
I didn't brave the rain this morning so I don't know how they were today.
