I own several pair but I bought mine years ago at wholesale and at sample,cost. Well below what someone off the street could buy them for today.

I can tell quality optics from really good optics. Swarovski And Leica make some of the best out there. But for the big game hunter I really do not see where they need it, a bird watcher? Maybe I could see the argument,

A good pair of Leupold McKinley or Nikons 7 are going to be hard to beat in the field.

I use a set of 10X Nikons. I can really pick the woods apart with them and they're good for the fields at my place too.
