Went back to the MS marsh again this morn for my 2nd time there. Tide started falling around 7a and we fished till noon.
I managed my limit of slot reds plus a nice flounder. Several short trout as well.
My buddy hung into his biggest fish ever... almost spooled him, but we chased and followed him around with the trolling motor on high to get enough line back to keep going. After 10 minutes or so, he came up to the surface... huge bull red. After another 5 minutes, he was about done, but there was no way he was going to fit into the net. We got a great look at him... I'd estimate 36 to 38in and 20 to 25lbs. Told my buddy he would have to put more pressure on him to turn his head toward us to attempt a netting, then his knot failed and line broke when he tried to turn him. Hated we didn't get pics, as he was the largest bull I've seen in person. But would have released him regardless.
