I know TN would not be very high.

The very fact you have to have a carry card to open carry is absurd. The amount of things you can get denied for are ludicrous.

Another reason is TN has a law that you cannot own firearms if you have ever been charged with a misdemeanor that has a possible punishment of 2 years or greater incarceration. A 70 yr old man recently had his carry privilege taken away because in 1967 he punched a guy in Mississippi. They didn't have a limit to how long you could be jailed for so it met the requirement even though he only spent 1 day in jail.

TN is not as free as we think we are.

Me too

Certainly over Alabama for our "Shall Issue" status.

For the most part, TN is more allowing than even NC, which ranks better....even though NC has some ridiculous limitations (no carry in a funeral procession or in a bank)

I think TN's biggest weakness is not having a Legislature that tells the localities to shove it when it comes to handgun carry.
