Salt Lick is tough to beat. My brother works security extra-job there and was on one of the Food Network shows they filmed there. :D

TX300, I have tried all three of the above mentioned in Lockhart, and I liked both Black's, and Kreuz to be very tasteful.
Being that I am just a stone throw from Austin, Franklin has great tasteing briskets, but I will agreed that Salt Lick is hard to beat both food and atmosphere.

Very cool, Twinshooter. Didn't realize you were that close. I have a brother in San Marcos I need to go see. I'm taking notes and will check a couple of these you mentioned out.
