Argh!!!

Got on one early on public land, Loudon county. He gobbled on the roost, but came in silent and very wary. Guess I have the first miss of the season for the adults. I am so bummed.

Bird #2 gobbled once and came in silent. Could not get him to come up the ridge far enough. Hen came within 10 yds looking for me, but Tom wouldn't follow her up the hill. Very frustrating.

Thinking I should have brought a decoy. Either that or I need to make better setups.

Maybe next time. Like elkman said, atleast birds are around. I heard nothing all day.
