Find a lighter scope if you'll be running with it
I have the SHV 4-14x50 F1. To be honest, I'm not impressed with it for the money. The eye relief is critical and very short compared to other scopes in the $1K price range. Other items I don't like are that the turret is 5 mil/revolution and the reticle is only lit in the center.
Now compare that with a Burris XTR II and you get 10 mil/revolution, fully lit reticle and better eye relief. If I had to do over, I would have spent more and gone with an NXS or spent a couple hundred less and gone with a Burris XTR II. The glass is fair on the Nightforce but not any better than the Burris in my opinion.
