I bought a Savage smokeless that came with a list of powder and the loads of each but I'm have trouble finding them. I sure would appreciate it if someone could spare some.

You dont want the 2400 and 4759 is no longer made.

Other options that work
Reloder 7 (60-65gr) ignore the Savage data for this powder.
Alliant 2015 but it takes a bunch of it
5744 slow and dirty but easy to use
LT-32...same as 2015...takes a bunch of it
4198 works also but like all the slower powders you want to stick with a 300gr bullet and a good snug sabot.

Latest approved powder list but like i said ignore the Re7. Its slower than N120 and the N120 max load is higher.

I came here to say exactly that about 2400 and 4759. (As well as "never put smokeless in an ML that was not designed specifically for smokeless propellants.")

I have not used 5744 for loads based on "fast" burning propellants, but I wish I had some to play with. People I respect swear by it as the starting point for the 10ML2.

For fast propellants, I get great groups with VVN110 and 250gr XTPs or SSTs, but I only have a bit left for my hunting use.

For medium-slow propellants, I got good groups and killed three deer with IMR4198 and 245gr Spitfires, but I suspect pressure was lower than optimal. In slow powders I also got great accuracy and killed numerous deer with H322 and 300gr SSTs/SWs.

You should check our Doug's board, but do a lot of reading to make *sure* you fully understand the internal ballistics, burn, and pressure mechanics before using any "non book" loads. I love my Savage 10ML2, but it's not as simple as just dumping some powder or pellet and bullet into a smoke pole.

Good luck!

Also, make sure you keep your breech plug clean inside and out and the check your vent diameter every range trip. If it grows, groups will change, pressures can go up, and you can have even bigger problems.

A 5/32" drill bit is the right size to clear the flash channel. Info is in the manual.

Vent liner hole aka flash hole should not be larger than .036. I toss them when they hit .035. Slower powders and heavy loads will eat them pretty quick. Lehigh vent liners will last longer but not a huge amount.
