I haven't but wouldn't be afraid to. Just make sure to tape off everything good so paint doesn't get in the barrel, action or trigger assembly. Also the paint will last a lot longer if you spray on a couple coats of good clear coat.

Not with a can, but did dura coat on parts before assembling. Have some more projects in the works.

A onion or tater sack will work better than hardware cloth. With the sack you can wrap it around the way you want before you paint. At least in my way or thinking it would

It's definitely not a problem to do. Completely wash it with brake cleaner, let it dry and spray your colors. When paint dries oil all the moving parts.

I've done dura coat and was pleased with it. Its fairly tough. I had some alumahyde and I tried to paint a synthetic stock with it. It didn't stick well to it. I figure that it would stick better to metal than plastic.

I've done solid colors with Cerakote, but never attempted a camo pattern. May give it a whirl soon. That stuff is very durable.

Just joking. Aint nothing wrong with a coat from a can! It can come out looking pretty sweet. Camo patterns can look nice with stencils.

Yours came out looking good! The two colors blend well and it doesn't look "spattery"
