I have several pictures of this Wild Turkey that appears to have a leg band. Any idea as to why it would be banded?

It travels with several other birds that don't have leg bands.

I think I remember seeing something in the "Ask TWRA" forum where someone, somewhere, has tagged some of every species of bird out there.

doesnt look like a fish and wildlife band. looks very wide, maybe its just the pic. I got one from a bird from Shelby forest years ago. mine is just like a federal band, but says twra.

Probably has some piercings too. Young birds these days...

Next they'll want tattoos.

Yeah I agreed about young birds, but when you see the "old Coots" trying to be a young bird, next thing you will see is "strutting in Spandex".

Meet me at any buffet, and you will see that this gobbler is still in his prime ;)

I heard about you and buffets, I heard that you strut like a Blue headed gobbler when you see one.
