Yep, I have my Father's old JC Higgins bolt action 12 Gauge that came from Sears. He also had a Spanish Mauser (small Ringaction) that came from Sears as a mail order. It's a 7x57.

Years ago they had guns.

I still have one of the old catalogues with the guns it - prices are AMAZING :)

Yes they were until you realize how little our take home pay was back then.

Believe me, I lived it... My only gun purchase from there was once on a Christmas for a single shot (39.95 maybe cant remember) late in their gun selling yrs and it was all my Mom could do to make that purchase working 65-70 hrs a week most weeks.

Just think though - with obummers new Share the Wealth plan we'll all have all the $ we need to buy whatever he'll allow us to own ;)

The Thompson submachine gun sold for $175 in the 1925 Sears, Roebuck and Company mail order catalog.

I couldn't find a picture of it but I have seen it before. Order it from Sears and the Post Office would bring it to your front door. No papers, no questions, nothing. If you weren't home then they would drop it off next door.
