I know the score and have an idea on his age. What are your thoughts?

Hard to tell on age, especially it being during the summer and the angle, but brisket tells me atleast 4.5 off this picture alone.

I'd guess 133"

Definitely a tough picture to age him from. With that being said, he's at least 4.5 but I'm leaning towards 5.5 based on his chest, waistline and overall girth. Also hard to score in velvet, but I'd say between 142-148.

Lots of history with this buck, he seemed to be more active in daylight this year than the past couple of years. He was either 5.5 or 6.5 depending on how old he was the first year he showed up on camera. I had a good idea where he could be killed and I sent my BIL in there one evening when the conditions were right and he killed him on the first sit, he pushed some does right by him.

Gross score 132"
19" wide
22.5" main beams

Thanks ZM. From those pics, I'd guess 6.5 this season. You have any pics of his teeth? Not so much for aging, but I like to look at tooth wear on older bucks that we know are 5.5/6.5 based on trail cam pics. For some 5.5/6.5 bucks, their teeth will look 3.5/4.5, which is so hard to get others to see/accept with TR&W aging method. Not always, but sometimes.

Taxidermist is supposed to be saving the jaw bones for me.

Based on those pics I agree with Andy. 6.5 years old according to those pics. It amazes me that you have daylight pics of him every year. I'm doing something wrong with my cams lol

Super cool to have so much history and kill him that many years down the line. That is rare.

Awesome post! I'd agree. Def 6.5yo. Looks like he didnt add a single inch of score from 4.5 till this year at 6.5 (which is actually not that unusual in free ranging deer with excellent nutrition from birth). But a huge jump from 3.5 to 4.5 (again typical in my experience)

Now in areas with poor nutrition, one would expect a decent jump from 4.5 to 5.5.

Glad you guys got him, great buck to take!

What's really cool here is the goodwill to put someone else on a buck like that. Especially a BIL. Kudos to you for that. You must have a good one. I just want to punch my BIL in the baby maker.

If you're going to be stupid, you'd better be tough!
