A partridge in a pair of tree-not

How about a quail in a sweet gum tree instead. I heard this thing calling from a tree next to the house today. I haven't seen a quail in a long time at least not around here.
Actually it was calling from the ground but when I went outside and tried to whistle at it flew up into the tree!

Thats a good picture. I seen a few in pine tree's. I trap coyotes and bobcats on national forest land. Nobody quail hunts here. Last winter i seen 6 different bunchs of them. I started carrying my 410 . Loaded up some 3 inch 410 with 8 shot. I would hunt the singles. The area i seen them in was clear cuts. And it started growing up good. They left the tops out of the pines . They had alot of cover.
