Just getting back from a great trip to Andros Island. One of the truly incredible places I have been blessed to fish.

I did not, the locals eat them like crazy. They're reef cuda and I'd rather not roll the dice with getting sick. I've always wanted to try them, just never been brave enough haha
For the ignorant, what would make you sick?
What is the difference in a "reef" cuda?

Ciguatera Poisoning.

It exists in coral reef habitats and moves up the food chain. Coral eating fish get eaten by predators, predators get eaten by larger predators and so on.

It's advisable to only eat cudas under about 24" in length to avoid this but I take no chances and just don't eat them. Same with big groupers, snappers, etc.
