What factory round are you guys using in 6.5 creedmoor? :?:

Hornady Match 140 Gr. ELD-M and Hornady Precision Hunter 143 Gr. ELD-X. Both have been extremely accurate for me. I also shot some Nosler Trophy Grade Ammo 140 gr. Ballistic Tips that were just under an inch but not as good as the the other two.

Shot today and had surprising results.
The Winchester XP out shot the hornady ELD-X. I will shoot again next weekend but am leaning towards the Winchester being my hunting round.
Targets are 6"
Shot at 200 yards.

Hornady 143 grain sprayed pretty badly. This was 2 sets of 4

I plan on picking up a 6.5 creedmor here in a few weeks. I've wanted one for a while and your post has got me wanting one bad! Continue to Keep us up to date with you're shooting and the loads you try. I'm trying to decide between the predator and the browning AB3. With the rebate brownings running and a gift card I have I'll be able to get either one for about $300.

At the range I shoot at there is a 8", 6" and 4" steel plates set at 223 yards. Needless to say the rest of the Winchester went too ringing the steel lol! I can tell you I've never considered myself a great shot but this gun is making me look better then I am. I hit the 4" four out of 5 shots. It was a lot of fun.

I usually handload, but when I bought my Ruger American Predator 6.5 CM last October, I didn't have time to work up a load. I tried Hornady American Whitetail 129 gr Interlocks, and Hornady Superformance 129 gr SST. The American Whitetail averaged about .8" at 100 yards, the Superformance about 1.2". I used the Am. Whitetail hunting, and got two deer and a coyote in about 15 minutes of each other.

Since then I worked up some sub-MOA loads with 140 gr Speer Hot Cors and 90 gr TNTs. My gun seems to like the flat-based bullets, and at ranges less than 300 yards you really don't need the higher BC boat tail bullets.

As for those two rifles, I think they're both winners. Get the one that looks and feels better to you. I have two Predators and an A Bolt II and no complaints on any of them. If the A Bolt 3 was the one with the wood stock, I think I'd go that route. Not sure I like the A B III's plastic trigger, though.
