when you shoot a texan lss 457 in a completely quiet setting, windless day, no surrounding noise, you think, man that is loud. When hunting in most places I hunt, if there is any wind, even just a breeze, any kind of vehicle traffic or just ambient sound of any kind, it is is unbelievable how quiet the shot is. Almost like you hear nothing, no comparison. I have shot from my front porch (I have a backstop and a safe shooting area for an air rifle, nothing but empty land in front of house) in a normal neighborhood with 1/2 acre yards and neighbors were outside raking leaves just 2 yards away and they never heard anything. Shot over 20 times one day, they never even looked up. But if you would have been on the porch right beside me you would have thought that is loud.
