A new archery club sprang up last year in Colorado where we hang out...The targets start at 10,000 feet on the slopes and go up to 10,600, then start back down....2 of us trad shooters, the rest had the " reach way out and touch something" equipment...Fun time!

No not really...just shot for fun and to help support the new club..I moved up to shoot what I considered my self imposed ethical shot distances. Those guys were shooting from some long distances with their dialed in bows...I kept the range up at Shute's Lane in Hermitage for TWRA back in the mid-70s and I can appreciate the work involved in setting up/ taking down targets for these type shoots...Our club built sheds, bought excelsior paper bales, banded them together, wallpaper pasted NFAA paper targets back then...hauling 3D targets, manhandling them into position, etc...requires lots of work..

I was stationed in Colorado Springs, while serving in the Air Force, years ago. The Air Force Academy had 2 outdoor ranges that were really nice. One was for hunters the other was for shooting regular targets. It was a challenging just walking the course in that altitude. Not sure if it would still be open to the public now or not. Beautiful place!
