260 rem

I've had one for 3 years now and absolutely love it. It has been elevated to first string when I head to the woods.
 
I have had one for 2 years and love it. Real light recoil also. Killed 3 so far and 2 dropped dead and the other made it about 10 yds. Shooting 140gr federal fusions, but gonna switch to reloads with the 129gr hornady sst's. IMO this gun is the perfect rifle for a child or small framed shooter, I'm neither and I still love it.
 
I'm shooting 120gr Nosler BTs out of my .260. I love the caliber...It is what I have been looking for for years. It shoots flatter than the .308, more powerful than the .243 and has the BC of a .270 Win. What's not to like?....Well, brass selection for reloading sucks unless you neck up/down.
 
I have had my .260 for 8 years and it is a great round. My rifle is a stainless boat paddle Ruger. I have killed several deer and a couple of coyotes with it. I reload and the .260 is more of a reloader's proposition than a lot of rounds. With the proper bullets the .260 makes a great 'big' varmit round and a super big game round. A 9" twist will generally handle 160g bullets that are suitable for elk and moose sized game. I use mostly Hornady 129g interlocks for deer but have some 100g Nosler parts and other bullets as well. The sd of the 6.5s makes giant killers of low recoiling rounds. All in all it is a super versatile round. Try it-can't imagine you won't like it. Plateau Hunter
 
I'm thinking of getting one in a lightweight rifle like a Browning MIcro or a Model 7 for a Montana Antelope hunt. When I went out there about 8 years ago, it seems like all we did was walk or crawl; didn't spend much time sitting and glassing because there were animals everywhere. I decided right then that when I went back I'd have as light a rifle as possible.

My brother in law nailed a nice antelope at 325 yards with his .243.
 
Been shooting a 260 for many years --
A real good rifle if kept in its place --
Shot a good buck at 410 yards a few years back (search Eggers in our Trophy Room) with a 120 BT --I want to add that is way to far for this round and that bullet, just wasnt that deers day to live

Killed several at and just past 300 with 120 - 100 Bts
100 partitions
129 hornadys ( this is my favorite load)

i have found that 300 or a little more is about the max range on deer with the 100-120 BTs but havent shot anything past that with the 129s to know performance
