Christmas day on my lease in MS. As bad as it's been the past 2 years, I actually have 9 birds that will be 2yos come spring using the place! Only problem is we took 2 new members this year who are turkey hunters....

BUT.. juvie season opens Mar 7th, and my 14 yo daughter gets 2w off for spring break... here's to hoping I get her tagged out before the grown ups

Non residents have to apply this year to hunt MS the first two weeks right? Should be interesting to see how that helps with the pressure.

I think NR only have to apply for public lands in first 2 weeks. No cap on private lands

I'm glad I am not the only one ready for turkey hunting. I also use the strategy of taking my daughter to get some birds before the pressure kicks in.

Turkey season can't get here fast enough and as warm as it's been, they prolly already think it's time. I killed a snake Dec26.

It's generally the Saturday closest to Apr1. So this year that would be Apr3.

I ended up hunting 6 different counties in south MS last year before finally getting a bird on the last day of season... and went 5 weeks without a gobble. I hope I NEVER repeat spring 2021.
