I recently bought a Kimber pro carry. I'm looking to pick up some more mags. It came with a 7 round mag. I don't have much experience with 1911s. I've talked to 2 different shops. One says any 7 round mag will work. The other says only Kimber brand mags will work. Can anyone give me a definitive answer? I've also read a certain model of Wilson combat mags will work. What do I need to look for??

Thanks

Also, it's a 45

I recently bought a Kimber ultra carry II TLE and bought two Wilson Combat 7 round mags that work like a charm.

Do you have the model number for the Wilson combat mags?

There is nothing printed. Holds 7 rounds. Just tell them what you have.... that's what I did. I called and ordered directly. They understand 1911's .

Chip McCormack 8 round with 2 Colt 7 round refills, left rear pocket for reloads, nobody notices the 1911 under a loose T shirt, they're staring at their phones.

Sig 1911 mags are considered the best in some quarters. I bought a couple and agree. The empty follower height is the key.
