That is beautiful! I'm getting mine mounted on a newer form I've not seen before. It shows more of one shoulder and then he's turned a bit for a head on view. Haven't decided on what I want his ears to be doing though. I've got several with the one ear back/forward & don't want to do that again.
Thank you.
This mount is the old school upright straight (Dreaded mount in the taxidermy world). I've done several deer for him over the years but the last two mounts he wanted straight, so to place them in the middle of the others.

and TWRA doesn't determine trophy status....Nice buck!!
They don't? Well at PI (and some other wma's) they do. Most stupid, no biological, no reason whatsoever for the rule. Even one of the deer biologist for the TWRA stated on here that any rule, other than one buck per hunter was needed at PI.

Why is the 9 point or better rule needed on a bowhunt with a handful of hunters? Makes no sense, none. Bowhunters have to pass up what as many have shown and said in this post, a big 8 is a true trophy, heck even a nice 8, 125" or 130" is exceptional.

Makes no sense to be in a tree with a bow, especially on a hunt that is designed to kill a "trophy" buck, you have to pass up a 130", 140", or worse a 150" or better buck. Stupid and crazy.

It didn't have anything to do with that comment, but he also was given the option of quitting or he would be fired, so he left the TWRA. He also stated on here that he was so glad that it had been proven, in the state of Tennessee, that the age of a buck makes ZERO difference as to the size of antlers it could have. He stated that on here.

Not sure how to reply? But yes in some cases TWRA sets rules on certain WMAs....I have 10 points for PI so I'm very familiar with the rules.....so I get your point....but TWRA doesn't define what a trophy is for each hunter.....what's a trophy for one hunter may not be for another based on a wide variety of reasons....my original comment pertaining to the buck you posted was a compliment....it's a nice buck no matter what anyone else says or thinks.

As for the comment made by someone at TWRA saying age makes ZERO difference as to the size of antlers.....I'm gonna have to disagree.....I understand that not all older bucks have big antlers....but most bucks with truly big antlers are generally of an older or more mature age class....yes there are exceptions.....and for me personally....age plays a bigger factor in trophy status than inches....but I guess that's another conversation.

This is the buck in my avatar. It was the first buck I ever shot. He has 11 points. He is a mainframe 8 pointer with double browtines, and one big 5.5" kicker. 5.5" bases, 19" inside. I scored him at 153 gross non typical. I killed him opening day in 1987 with a 30/30 in Montgomery county. That farm is now part of Ft. Campbell.
