So just throwing this out there

And Yes, a 1 or 2 hour class isn't going to give anybody any significant training. As I said earlier, it takes years of work to get good with a handgun. Even the Safety part takes lots of repetition to ingrain safety to the sub conscious level required that it needs to be.

So just throwing this out there

So when they do come to your door to confiscate your illegal AR then it's OK for me to grant you "Idiot" status for getting caught with it? I thought the deal here is that anybody who goes against a gun law, whether just or not, is an idiot. Even if you agree with what they did. Nio...

So just throwing this out there

It's funny how the tone of most internet discussions is so often set by the 1st few responses. This one has gone in the direction of totally ignoring that a thief was comfiting a crime while focusing on the victim's response of shooting at the real criminal. The same group who often rants...

    Vintage Postcard, Vintage America

My wife's aunt came from NC a couple times to visit us by Greyhound about 12 or 15 years ago. What an eye opening experience when we went to the bus station to pick her up. I'd want a friend or two carrying shotguns to ride with me after seeing the people on those buses. :)...

So just throwing this out there

The problem with requiring a certain level of proficiency is that you are going to deny a lot of people from ever carrying a gun at all. We aren't all equal. Shooting a handgun is about 50X harder to learn than a long gun. It takes years of practice and work to get good and many...

Guess I'm way behind the times...

I don't understand that because I put a Vari-x 2 3x9 40mm on my 460 Weatherby back in 1987 and it has withstood everything that rifle can dish out for several hundred shots plus it's one of my brightest scopes. I have some Rifleman scopes that aren't as bright but never had a Leupold that...

The thief got what he deserves, it's a shame our law leans towards protecting criminals instead of law abiding people.

    And just like that

Paying off all your debts is like getting out of prison. Nothing like it. Cutting that many years off of the payments is huge. Congratulations!

The Leupolds I buy cost from $200 to $400. No need to go much if any above that. Every time they upgrade and revamp their line, they typically put what used to be the best glass in the lower cost models. You get a good scope for $300 from Leupold.

Alcohol Is a Cruel and Capricious Mistress

Well that's your choice of course. But so many men can't socialize at all without liquor and that's one major reason I'm picky about who I hang out with. Everything is A OK until somebody gets drunk and starts acting like an a$$. You don't know when that's going to happen and if the crap...

Leupold isn't so expensive if you ignore the 100,000 yard shooters who say you have to buy the $2,000 + models. You only need those models if you are going to be running the elevation screw up and down like a window shade. :)

    Hunting Blind location

Leave as much brush around as possible allowing holes to shoot through. A naked box stands out like a sore thumb and deer will be zeroed in on it when walking by if it's not covered up some.

The answer to this is "Nobody". Nobody left who has had the life experiences those early Country singers had to recreate their songs.

    Colonoscopy

Would love to have some of that stuff to pour in the 454 in my Trans Am if it could have reduced the exhaust back pressure the way it did my back pressure would have been an instant 50 Hp increase! :) I think I'm about 2 years out on my next one. Don't look forward to it.

One of a thousand reasons I've never tolerated any kind of alcohol around me. :)
