Kind of surprised me

Went fishing yesterday.
Didn't get on the water till about 7:30 or so.
Just wanted to feel a tug on the line so I went after the short crappie again.
Caught 3 bream and 50 crappie.
Actually had 4 or 5 keepers. I didn't measure them as I didn't plan on keeping anything anyway.
The first bream I caught was small so I cut it's head off and cut a body chunk.
Put them on circle hooks and set them about 2' off the bottom and let them hang while I fished.

Fished 4 different spots and left them out the entire time.
Never had the first nibble.
Figured I would at least catch a channel cat.

Gonna have to get @Deer Assassin or @gasman to show me how to do it.

Too cheap to buy chicken breast ?

2' from the bottom is too high. You should have stopped at about 22" then you would have caught fish.

I actually caught a 7 lb blue and a 3 lb channel jigging this weekend! Did catch a 1.75 crappie as well.

Use one of them Crappieluck chicken heads.......

why you cut the head off? dont you watch catfish dave?

Reminded me of duck opener last year. We killed a stinky merganser and had a few jugs in the boat. Cleaned it up and threw 3 jugs out. Had 3 nice cats on within 10 minutes.
