we will have a decent day then a couple of 4-8 duck days. I hunt Buck Basin and near Green Island. Black Bayou and Long Point are holding the ducks. Blinds in that area are seeing better action. Snaggy Refuge near Buck Basin has not held much this year....
That being said most blind numbers that I know of are at or less than half of traditional numbers

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
little weather this weekend may get something stirred up at least.
Just saw the River is pretty low so I'd imagine that helps the guys hunting on Reelfoot?

The later in the month it is, the better your odds will be (I think). As others have mentioned, west TN in general has seen below-average numbers of ducks. If you search "Tennessee waterfowl survey", you can look at the refuge counts at the various refuges around the state, sorted by region. We were due an update a couple of days ago. The one around January 1st was done, but was greatly delayed, so I'm not sure if the same thing will happen with the one scheduled for the 15th. FYI, they put "DNS" - "did not survey" on the January 1st results, but then later posted them, so I don't think that designation is significant nowadays.

I've hunted the foot quite a bit this year. On days I thought we would slam we did "ok" on days where I didn't think we would see many we "slammed". I believe it will pick up over the next couple of weeks. As the old saying goes... you can't kill em on the couch...
