Rule #1. DO NO SOAK A MODERN DAY NON STICK COOKING UTENSIL
IN A SINK WITH A DETERGENT(DAWN WAS MINE). The detergent will eat the non stick surface off.
Note: it's ok to clean with detergent just don't soak in detergent solution.
Picture to follow soon.

This is the catch all tray in very bottom of the air fryer that I was given for Christmas. You can easily tell the depth that tray was in detergent solution.
Soap apparently doesn't harm.
Detergent will harm when soaking "but not washing"

We haven't had non-stick in the kitchen in years. Stuff will peel off, no matter what what you do. Wife keeps cast iron skillets seasoned after each use. They are thoroughly scrubbed with hot water and an abrasive cloth. Put on the range for two minutes and sprayed with canola oil. Well-seasoned cast iron will have no or very little sticking that is easily removed.

Our cast iron doesn't get detergent ever.....if they need a good cleaning we'll boil water in them and use plastic scraper then oil them down while hot....two Lodge and one Wagner stay on stove top.
