How does a buck with no testicles rut? This deer was a small spike last year that stayed with does, like he was a doe. I thought it was an antlered doe because I never saw a sack. Now here he is this year with a swollen neck and strange rack, still no balls.

Kill it, before it pollutes the gene pool.

Unfortunately I'm tagged out. If he hangs around I'll bring somebody in to kill him....it.

Two years ago there was a fawn that kept getting shunned by the does. They simply wouldn't allow it near them. The young bucks also chased it away, even kicking at it while at the mineral lick. I thought it odd, but didn't know what was going on. Last year there was a spike that lagged behind the doe groups, and other young bucks would get very aggressive with. It never chased a doe, just lagged behind the group like a shunned outcast. Now after seeing this thing pop up on camera, the pieces of the puzzle are aligning. I think it's been the same deer all along.

Could be an injury, could be that they never dropped.

I tend to agree with maybe they didn't drop....my understanding is if they are castrated due to injury that they will remain in velvet and not shed their antlers....I was told that or read that one time....I know I saw a nice 8pt at taxidermist one year....hard horned in full velvet...in late November....I asked about it and he said the buck had no testicles so he never shed his velvet.
