Creek bottoms Well-Known Member Not to swing the thread in another direction, but are we going to be able to kill hawks and owls? I was just saying that yesterday if you're doing this for the turkeys , the birds of prey kill a lot of poults along with house cats .

    Ooops

Normally get 4 or 5 a year , when it’s starts warming up I normally pull all the conibears and go to foot holds.

Skunks and woodchucks need to go. But I don't want to kill my barn cats or bobcat. How to?

REM 270. That’s the only animal that has ever came after me once I turned it loose .

Trapping season coming to an end

I only trapped for beaver this year for about 30 days . I ended up covering 3 counties and set up 4 farms before I pulled everything yesterday . I was only trapping nuisance beavers for farmers. 25 beavers 7 otters 6 muskrats 5 raccoons

Trapping in pasture with cattle present

Don't let them see you. Don't use urine. Don't use any thing with FISH in it. Slide your trap sets under a tree. Where cow can get to them but Coyote can. Old cows are easier to trap around than young cows. Forget = showy sets. Be on location under a bush or tree is best

    Trap wax

Just what the other two post said but I will add if the wax is smoking it's to hot turn it down . Make sure if you go with dipping in wax ,the trap has heated up in the wax if it doesn't you will know by seeing it clumped up on it . As far as the Dakota dip I have never used , I guess I'm just...
