    Sibby’s a squirrel dog now!

Take someone with you next time you go to do the shooting. Maybe use a CB or a pellet rifle to start. Tie the dog to the tree and pet and encourage her. After she’s pretty worked up have them to knock the squirrel out. This will sometimes get them out of being gun shy.

    Juvenile Hunt

It’s gonna be brutal cold Saturday morning. The wind is what will hurt them young ones. We’re gonna wait till the afternoon to hunt Saturday. Sunday will probably be the better of the two days.

    Henry Buckhammer 360 Chime in

If I read it right and remember it right. It’s more or less a 30/30 necked up to fit a .35 bullet. I watched a little excerpt about it on a YouTube video with a Remington rep saying it wasn’t going to do away with the .35 Remington just because of the buck hammer load. I call B.S. on that. It’s...

    Sold/Expired Marlin 336 35 Remington Rifle

I have a ‘74 Model.336 35. I got it for Christmas when I was 12. I love the gun but you can’t find ammo for it. So , I don’t hunt with it much anymore. I think I only have 1 box of shells for it as a matter of fact. I’ve killed many deer with it. It’s an excellent woods gun. I have plenty of...

    Recommendations on packable down vest

32 degree heat. They have packable vests and light jackets. I wear their lightweight base layers a lot. I bought the vests for my daughter and she loves them. Pretty decent products for the price. Go to their website they have sales several times a year and free shipping after 32 dollar order.

    OnX and property lines

The land beside mine was sold / surveyed several years ago. I went to check the line and walked straight to both pins on that side of the property with the HuntStand app. The pins were within 2 1/2 feet . I walked the line from pin to pin at it stayed 5 to 10 feet from the survey ribbon. I went...

Leaving a summit viper in the field for a day or three

I leave my portables on my property like this every year. I keep a plastic tote underneath the tree with my seat in it. That way it doesn’t get wet and I don’t forget it. I cover the tote with burlap leaves and sticks , been doing it for years.

    CWD Found in Kentucky

I’m pretty sure I read an article several years ago about CWD being in the elk & mule deer heard out west. If I remember correctly They didn’t have a big culling like Tn. They let it naturally occur with the hopes of natural immunity being the most likely outcome. I’m not 100% sure about the...

    Fort Campbell youth hunt

My son has been drawn on the hunt for this weekend. I just received the email. He’s excited to say the least. I’ve never set foot on the place. I’m trying to cyber scout our area (not even sure if I’m looking at the right place). Not asking for any spots, but does anyone have any advice about...

    Freak accidents can happen

That’s almost what’s known as a “Widow Maker” a tree propped up by another one or a snag being held up out of line of sight. Gotta be careful in the timber especially when it’s windy too. Glad you were lucky and just learned a lesson.

    Ground blinds

I have several. Rhino & Primal right now. Primal has good customer service. I broke a stick setting on up and emailed them. I had to send a picture and proof of purchase, they sent me a new blind. Can’t beat that ! I’m almost certain I can order a replacement stick from Rhino that will fit it...
