Do the hens then go unbred?

In my hypothetical situation what if the dominant gobbler gets killed one month before breeding starts by a predator, who then does the breeding?

A flock of 15 hens and three gobblers exist in a pocket more than 5 miles from the next pocket of turkeys. One of the gobblers is dominant. Which turkey breeds the 15 hens?

I’d say you are correct in that scenario. I live in the extreme country and don’t see those scenarios. Reckon there are ever hens that don’t get bred in what I would call “normal” hunting conditions?

More gobblers means more poults which in turn means more turkeys. Guarantee you it wouldn’t hurt

They weren’t bedding, just tracks, lots of tracks

Been out in the snow trying to put the pieces together. I noticed tracks under just about every cedar tree. Never saw deer eat from a cedar tree. I didn’t notice any of the small, blue berry-like fruit that you sometimes see on cedars.
