    Over/Under Shotguns??

Two chokes is nice if you're on a dove shoot. Also, great for skeet and sporting clays. I personally find them a ton easier to clean than semi-autos. I only have one, CZ Drake, but I'm really glad I got it for skeet just because of the time saved cleaning.

    Ultradot Red Dots for hunting

Have any of you used an Ultradot Red dot optic? I am setting up a Model 686 revolver for deer hunting and am trying to decide what to put on it. I'll be shooting out to 75 yards max. Was originally planning on putting a scope on it, but see where a lot of guys are going to the red dots, so I...

Do You Use a "Modern Sporting Rifle" for Deer?

I have a 350 Legend I use occasionally for certain stands I know are always going to be 100 yard or closer shots. In general, I have to say I much prefer bolt action rifles for hunting, but I like to mix it up and hunt with different guns throughout the year. The deer really don't seem to mind...

What did you do today in the reloading room?

@dogsled 46.5 gr H4895 with Winchester primers shoots great in my Savage 110 High Country with the Barnes bullets. I was skeptical about the all copper stuff, but a couple deer later and I have no reservations.

Anybody had good luck with Hornady SST in .30 caliber?

Have used the SST's in .260 & 30-06, very lethal with massive wounds. Depending on how far you shoot, the SST may shoot flatter at longer range b/c of bc as mentioned above. I have also found the old style cup and core penetrate and expand slower than the ballistic tips.

What did you do today in the reloading room?

Been snowed in for a few days here in Knoxville. Got a batch of 168 Barnes TSX loaded up in 30-06, used up the last of my H4895. Put a few test loads together with the SST 150's for a different 06. Got some 223 loaded for the bulk box as well.

What did you do today in the reloading room?

Started re-sizing a bunch of 30-06 brass last night. Going to work up a dedicated load with the Hornady 165 SST's for a rifle I've been messing around with. Hope to have everything ready to go for next season.

    Caliber survey

Some very impressive list on here, these are mine: 243 Win - k 260 Rem - k 30-06 - k 350 Legend - k 50 cal muzzleloader - k I think some of the older and oddball calibers are pretty cool and I also think that the gun you take in the field can definitely be part of the enjoyment. But... If I...

    Catoosa

I hunted up there this weekend. I saw a few deer, but right at the fringes of daylight. I think the temperature had them on their belly during the day. I did see several hogs come through before legal shooting light. I'm hoping it cools down for the rifle hunt in 2 weeks. If so, I would bet the...

    Hog Processing near Catoosa

@Mb423 I have watched some of those bearded butcher videos about deer. They're pretty informative for sure.
