How many of you compete with your hunting rig?

Use to go to the range in Old Hickory all the time and shoot for fun. It was only five minutes from my house before I moved. The gates were always open for that purpose. I never shot in a tournament though. If I would have I would have used my hunting setup with field points. The few times I...

    how do most deer die?

Wondered this myself, saw a Titan truck hit a deer in Mt Juliet a couple of years ago. Going about 40 mph on Division St. Never even slowed down to check damages.

    Deer harvest, what % unreported?

I would think if someone is hunting private land on a lease or by permission they would report it more often and on public land as well. Landowners shooting a doe and hanging it their barn probably less often. Someone shooting it from the road or at night, well I think we all know that answer.

It actually was a very sturdy stand but man it was heavy and sounded like a freight train sliding it out and attaching to the tree. Later I bought a Lone Wolf hand climber but would leave my...

    Called it a season

Plan to go in the morning and maybe the afternoon. Still have a buck tag left. A doe is not off the radar though. Probably my last hunt. Headed to the mountains with my wife for a few days instead of hunting the special private land season next week.

Sons first buck EDIT: Both boys first buck

My wife would say aren't they adorable and say nothing about the deer. Congrats on teaching your boys to enjoy hunting and congrats to them for taking deer at such a young age.
