Walker’s Razor Quad 360 Degree Electronic Muffs w/ Bluetooth $36

I ordered a pair and am wearing them right now. Seem pretty good, outside sound amplified without any static. I have a big head and was able to get them to fit properly. I loaded my shotgun, which makes a pretty loud noise, and I could tell the sound was reduced. So the sound cutoff seems to...

From Dr. Harpers lips to your ears... Must listen.

This year’s nesting success may be impacted by the cicada emergence. A lot of animals will eat the cicadas, reducing nest predation. And the cicadas are an easy food supply for poults. So using this year as a measure of whether the regulation changes are having a positive impact might lead to...

Didnt realize there was a change

On a property I owned there was a turkey that had huge body, big thick beard, and long spurs. But had the grayish head of a hen with no snood to speak of, never gobbled or strutted. Hung out with the hens and acted like a hen. I wasn’t sure what its deal was, so never shot it.

Didnt realize there was a change

All male turkeys have beards, but some beards get broken off near the skin. I’ve seen plenty like that (broken off) where you couldn’t see it until you parted the feathers. But they still had one. If I know a bird is a male, I’m also certain it has a beard. Might be 1/8 inch long, but it has...

Assuming that you had bifocals before the surgery, after that surgery, would you still need reading glasses?

Anyone used a Benelli Lupo Rifle

I haven’t shot one, but I almost bought one when I found one on sale at bass pro a couple of years ago. It looked like a great gun for the money. The only thing some people complained about was the angle at which you have to hold your trigger hand.

    Bowhunting pass through?

You should use a big broadhead if you’re aiming for head/neck. Don’t use that judo point.

When deer season closes, it’s time to go to Africa

Years ago my wife had a friend that I couldn’t stand. One time she was at our house and told a story about how she visited another of her friends and the husband had a mounted giraffe. She said she started crying and had to leave the house because it was so upsetting. I’ve wanted a giraffe...

    Bowhunting pass through?

All depends on size of bones the arrow hits. In a broadside deer, it’s easy to get through ribs. Hit the deer in the shoulder bone, and it’s a different story entirely. Turkeys have some substantial bones.

    Bearded Hen?

I think it depends on location. Bearded hens were very common on some land I used to own. Seemed like about 20% of the hens I saw there had beards. On the land I hunt now, maybe 5%. I’ve seen the same thing with those Smokey grey hens. I’ve seen areas where they were very common, then just a...

Politics even in our deer hunting world

Exactly. And Rompola was talking his buck up big time prior to that, obviously wanting to use it for some lucrative sponsorships. So then he’s told to put up or shut up and he shuts up. What conclusion does a thinking person draw from that? Would it influence the thinking person’s conclusion...

Hunter overcrowding and the privatization of access

I hunted a lot of places in North Carolina and I didn’t see the kind of trash I see here. I don’t think it’s the entire southeast. Just driving down the road you can see trash. I’m guessing some of that is people hauling trash to the dump and it blows out. But I don’t know for sure. It is...
